Writing Poetry For Children – Children Writing Poetry

Logo.001This post is a brief departure from my normal flash fiction pieces – bear with me.

I am working with a children’s poet, David Horner, to develop some fun poetry workshop films.

While initially aimed at educators, it struck me that they could also be used by writers looking for ideas to create poems for children.

At present we have five films available, with more in the pipeline. Each one is made up of three poems read by David followed by an idea for a workshop. They can be found at Goodeyedeers. The coupon code: MJSHORTS will give you free access to any one of the films.

Our Goodeyedeers blog is going to chart our journey on this new venture and share with people how we created our films, what is working and what is not.

This is one of David’s poems, called ‘Kennings For Kevin’ and can be found on the tongue twisters workshop film.

I look forward to reading your comments
