Kite Flying 


“It won’t work Jimmy. We need more wind.”

The dragon, watched on, fascinated. While he couldn’t understand why they wanted to make that object fly he felt an urge to help. Taking a deep breath he sucked air into his bulbous lungs, before letting out a roaring wind in the direction of the kite flyers. The trees shook. The sky turned crimson. The dragon sobbed, horrified at what he’d done.

Later that day the search party found the charred remains of two small bodies. Waving in the wind, in a nearby tree, the tattered remains of their brightly covered kite.
