The Wrong Bridge

“You’ve got the wrong bridge Billy.”

“You sure Jimmy? It’s just I don’t fancy getting half way across and being eaten by a Troll.”

“You’re thinking of the old wooden, rickety one on the other side of town. This one’s fine. Are you coming?”

“Suppose so  but, just to be on the safe side, can we take our shoes off so we don’t make any trip trap noises?”

“OK. Anything to keep you happy.”

The two shoeless boys set off across the bridge, silent as mice. The waiting Troll smiled. Some people would try anything to get across his bridge.
