Dreamers by Mike Jackson

Dreamers

An Etheree poem (ten line poem, line one, one syllable, line two, two syllables and so on) and then an inverted Etheree.

Dreamers

it’s
clearly
states in our
manifesto –
citizens on Earth
are permitted to dream
the third Sunday in the month,
when your thoughts may fly wherever –
but don’t abuse our trust – we won’t allow
your dreams to interfere with what we do.
YOU had trouble keeping your dreams in check,
playing the game by the laid down rules,
that’s why we saw you as a threat,
your sort want to change the world –
keep up, don’t lag behind,
your journey to the
Purple Planet
departs soon,
no dreams
there.
