Don’t Ring The Bell Boy.

“Whatever you do boy, don’t ring that bell.”

In his attempt to reach the warning bell Samuel hadn’t noticed the stranger emerge from the mist. He stared at the huge man in the faint hope he might recognise him.

“I’ve got to mister, it’s my job. If I don’t, the people in the village won’t be ready.”

“That’s why I can’t let you ring the bell son,” said the man, as he slowly pulled out a strange looking weapon from inside his long, black coat.
