Friday’s 100-Word Challenge #2

Every Friday I plan to post a prompt that will encourage you to write a 100-word story.

The inspiration for your story each week will be a black and white photo (taken from Pixabay). Your challenge is to write a story of exactly 100-words inspired by that picture.

If you would like to share your story then simply add it into the comments section below

Have fun and I look forward to reading your stories.

  1. “But Mayor,” I said pointing to the old plastic garden chair on the beach, “We can’t possibly use that. Won’t the king expect something grander?”
“King Canute is quite mad Jenkins,” he replied, “Everyone knows it. This monthly visit of his to different seaside towns to attempt to turn back the tide is nonsense. Last month Blackpool spent a fortune on a grand wooden throne that got washed out to sea. Before that, Scarborough wasted money on a monstrous iron throne, now covered in barnacles and rusting. I’m not prepared to squander tax-payer’s money. It’s a garden chair or nothing.”
