Friday’s 100-Word Story Challenge #8

Every Friday I plan to post a prompt that will encourage you to write a 100-word story.

The inspiration for your story each week will be a black and white photo (taken from Pixabay). Your challenge is to write a story of exactly 100-words inspired by that picture.

If you would like to share your story then simply add it into the comments section below

Have fun and I look forward to reading your stories.

  1. The crack in the wall is much bigger at night.

That’s when I see here, smiling at me, beckoning me over. She whispers stories in my ear about alien creatures gathering in the gloom behind her, preparing to come across and destroy our world.

I try telling the orderlies each morning. I show them my little black notebook with its daily measurements showing that the crack is slowly but surely getting bigger.

They smile. Tell me they’ll talk to maintenance.

Then they gently roll up my sleeve, give me my medication and tell me to stop worrying.

    But I can’t.
